Como, Italien ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

We enjoyed 4 awesome days at Lake Como.
We took the train from Basel SBB with half tax and bought the super saver fare to Chiasso (=the last stop in CH). Usually the same train continues to Como, IT “San Giovanni” train station and the ticket costs approx. EUR 2 (online at tren Italia).

In the city we enjoyed our stay at

Hotel Pilinus Como

8 min from the train station directly in the city.
*(see photo)

We recommend a typical Italian coffee* place with great sweets.
If you would like to go to a hair dresser (no appointments, great service, great price and some speak English like Marina) we recommend

My Hair Style*

We took the funicular up to BRUNATE on top of the mountain.

Where we stayed at the family hotel with pool, very friendly (I would not eat there). They will pick you up from the funicular by car (5 min ride, 40 min walk UP the hill).

You can eat at

Polentaria* superb! , make a reservation (see photo)

And also the pizza place next door to the hotel.

There is a light house to visit.
We actually did 2 great hiking tours, starting from the hotel in Brunate.

1. Walk down to Torro, eat Pizza in the smallplace next to the boat stop (best Pizza, even though it may not look like it)

Then take the boat back to Como and the funicular back to the hotel if you stay there.
2. Another day: we just walk “on top of the hill”. There are lots of baitas* on the way. We stopped for a drink, for polenta, for coffee ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
